PROJECT

‘Twice’ is a film for three voices and three actors. Two women and one man talk – alone or with each other – about some event or situation in the past. Their understanding of what has happened is partial and bitter: the present is a fractured version of the past. (Hamlet’s “The time is out of joint…” comes to mind.) What the three of them share seems not so much life, as afterlife.

According to Heraclitus, we cannot step in the same river twice. Yet with memory – particularly memories of those lost to us – we can. ‘Twice’ shows us this – either as a video installation (the action moving across three screens) or as a short film.
